Hello! I am excited to begin my journey here at Covington! I have previously worked as a middle school counselor in AISD, and before that I was a science teacher for 10 years. I am married with 2 kids and a cat. I love nature and music, and often spend my free time with my family outdoors or enjoying live music. I have a passion for helping students reach their goals, whatever that may look like. As your 6th grade counselor, I have a wonderful opportunity to watch our students grow over the next 3 years. What an exciting transition! It is my role to help.

My name is Kyle Haenisch and this is my 5th year at Covington! I worked 9 years as a counselor before Covington, plus 7 years in the classroom before that. I enjoy music, jogging, and reading. As a counselor, my goal is to meet students where they are to help them navigate the challenges of middle school. I am excited to start this school year! If you have questions or concerns, please reach out! We will do everything we can to help you and your student feel supported.

Our Counselors are available to provide information and support to students and parents. Feel free to contact either Counselor for information about students’ special supports, as well as academic, social, and emotional needs. They can share many resources and contacts that may be of assistance.
