We are proud to be an AVID school, where “Advancement Via Individual Determination” means preparing all students for college readiness and life success in a global society, using proven strategies that develop students’ critical thinking, literacy, and math skills across all content areas.

AVID:

• Teaches all students the skills and behaviors for academic success through the school-wide program
• Provides an elective class with college study, preparation, and university visits; intensive tutorial support, and strong student/teacher relationships
• Creates a positive peer group for students
• Develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination
• Brings teacher training in research-proven methodologies for intensive integration of the WICOR processes (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading)
