Covington Connection Aug. 31 - Sept. 4, 2026
As we head into Week 3 of the school year, I want to begin by thanking everyone who joined us for Back-to-School Night last week. It was wonderful to see so many of our parents and families in the building, meeting teachers, visiting classrooms, and learning more about what your students will experience this year. We had a great turnout, and I hope we continue to see even more of our families on campus throughout the year.

What a great start to the school year! It was wonderful to see the excitement and energy our students brought into the building during our first week. Whether reconnecting with old friends, meeting new classmates and teachers, or simply figuring out how to navigate a new schedule and routine, our students did an outstanding job adjusting to the start of the year. Thank you, parents and families, for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we worked through the many moving parts that come with opening a new school year.
Covington Connection Welcome Back! Ausgust 17-21st 2026
The first day of school is almost here! On Tuesday, we officially begin a new school year at Covington Middle School. I am excited to welcome our returning students and families, our many new Colts joining us this year, and especially our incoming 6th-grade families making the transition from elementary to middle school. We know this transition brings excitement, anticipation, and maybe a few nerves for students and parents.

Welcome to the Covington community! We are just a little over a week away from the beginning of what promises to be an exciting school year, and the energy and anticipation are already building throughout our campus. I am truly honored to serve Covington for another year and especially grateful to be part of this important chapter in our school's story. This year, we have the incredible opportunity to welcome so many new students, families, faculty, and staff while continuing to build upon the traditions and strengths that have made Covington special. As we come together, I have no doubt that there is a great future ahead of us.

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year, with less than two weeks remaining. As we begin wrapping up the year, this week will mark the start of several important end-of-year procedures, including Chromebook collection beginning Monday and locker cleanout taking place on Friday.

We have officially made it to May, the final month of the school year, and I am certain these next few weeks will fly by. This week is especially meaningful as we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the incredible work of our faculty and staff.

Thank you for your incredible support during STAAR testing! We truly appreciate your efforts in ensuring students were present, on time, and ready to do their best each day. We now have just a few remaining days for STAAR Math and Algebra I EOC make-up testing before we officially close out the 2025–2026 testing season. We are proud of the hard work our students and staff have shown throughout this important time.
Covington Connection April 20th - April 24th, 2026
This week marks the final week of STAAR testing, with the Math STAAR and Algebra I EOC scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child arrives to school on time and brings their fully-charged Chromebook each day. Your partnership plays a critical role in helping students feel prepared and confident.

Thank you, parents, for your support in helping make the first day of STAAR testing a success. Students arrived on time, the atmosphere was calm, and our students entered their testing areas feeling optimistic and confident. We appreciate your partnership in helping set the tone for a positive testing environment.
Covington Connection April. 6th - 10th, 2026
This week marks the beginning of the STAAR assessments. Our students will take the ELA exam on Thursday, April 9th. This is a valuable opportunity for them to demonstrate the growth, perseverance, and hard work they have shown all year long. We are proud of the effort they have put in and are confident they are ready to shine.
