I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day this past Friday and are enjoying the extended weekend with Presidents’ Day on Monday! It’s always nice to have a little extra time to relax and recharge. Just a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 17th. Thank You for Your Support! A huge thank you to all the parents who attended Coffee with the Principal and our CAC meeting this past week. Your involvement and support are what help make our school a better place for all students.

STAAR Interim & Countdown to STAAR 2025 Last week, we completed the STAAR Interim Assessment, and our team is now analyzing the data to make any last-minute adjustments to instruction. Our goal is to ensure we are aligned with the support students need to be fully prepared for the STAAR exam in April.
Covington Connection Feb 3 - Feb 8 2025
As we close out January and step into February, we continue to push forward with academic progress and school initiatives to ensure student success. This week, we will be administering the STAAR Interim Exams for Math and ELA on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will be operating on a modified schedule, with students remaining in their testing locations until 11:45 AM. Please remind your child to bring their Chromebook and charger to school tomorrow to ensure they can successfully complete their assessment.

As we navigate through the upcoming days of inclement weather, we want to remind everyone to stay safe and warm. Due to the weather conditions, there will be no school tomorrow. The district is actively monitoring the situation, and we will provide updates as needed.
Covington Connection January 13 -18, 2025
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome students back to campus after the winter break, and this week we are diving into the full swing of the 2nd semester. As part of our efforts to set a strong foundation, we will be holding student expectations assemblies throughout the week. These assemblies will serve as a refresher for all students about the expectations we have for them at Covington.

Happy New Year, Covington families! I hope you all had a wonderful Winter Break and enjoyed some quality time with family and friends over the holidays. As we step into 2025, a quick reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 6th but we are excited to welcome students back to campus on Tuesday, January 7th.

As we approach the end of the semester, I know our students are eagerly anticipating a well-deserved two-week Winter Break. Before we head into the holiday season, we have an exciting week of events after school.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving week, filled with time spent with family and friends, delicious food, fellowship, and football! As we return, it’s hard to believe we only have three weeks until winter break, but this is the season of excitement and activity.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, a day dedicated to recognizing and commemorating those who have bravely served and sacrificed to protect our country. This past Wednesday, we honored their commitment and expressed our deepest gratitude during Covington's annual Veterans Day Assembly. Our Fine Arts Department and students performed beautifully, celebrating veterans throughout our community. Thank you to all who were part of this special event, and a heartfelt thanks to the parents who attended or volunteered.
