I hope everyone had a restful and safe fall break, filled with cherished moments spent with family, friends, and loved ones. As we dive back into the school routine, we have an exciting few weeks ahead before our well-deserved Winter break.
This past week, our students completed their mid-year map assessments in Math and Reading. These assessments provide us with valuable insights into where our students stand academically and guide us on where to focus our efforts to ensure their continued growth and success.
We have some important events lined up for the coming weeks. Our Parent Orientation Meeting to review the curriculum for Human Sexuality and Reproduction is scheduled for Monday at 5 PM in the cafeteria. Additionally, don't miss out on Coffee with the Principal at 10 AM in the Library on the same day. Finally, mark your calendars for our monthly CAC Meeting next Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 PM. All are welcome to attend.
It brings me immense joy to shine a spotlight on our exceptional Teacher and Students of the Month for October. Ms. Zippe has been selected for her unwavering dedication to our students. She goes above and beyond, tirelessly tutoring and providing support whenever needed, putting the children first every step of the way.
Let's also extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Students of the Month:
- 6th Grade: Shayna Bernstein, an absolute delight in our afterschool program, always ready to assist and entertain. Shayna's positive attitude brightens every room she enters.
- 7th Grade: Kani Loving, a hardworking student who embodies the spirit of helpfulness. Kani's quick thinking during a fire drill exemplifies his responsibility and care for others.
- 8th Grade: Naomi Hinrichs, a remarkable student with a passion for learning. Naomi's kindness, dedication, and leadership as the vice president of the NJHS make her a role model for her peers.
Let's continue to support and celebrate the achievements and contributions of our Covington Middle School community. Together, we create an environment where excellence thrives.
Warm regards,
Cedric Maddox
